The graphics are praised for their nostalgic appeal, particularly when set to "console" mode and lower resolutions, reminiscent of classic N64 titles. However, some users express disappointment with the indistinct visuals and slow frame rates, suggesting a desire for updated controls while maintaining the original aesthetic. Overall, the game's aesthetic is highlighted as a strong point, despite the technical limitations.
“The aesthetic is probably the best part.”
“I would gladly pay 20 bucks or more for a game with Perfect Dark's graphics, style of action, and storytelling but with more updated controls and abilities for the player character.”
“I didn't have much luck revisiting my favorite N64 shooters with the indistinct visuals and glacial frame rate.”
“Be sure to leave the graphics on 'console' and the lowest resolution for maximum nostalgia.”
“Local splitscreen, full controller support, and old school graphics.”

The game's story is seen as a promising foundation, but it currently lacks a true single-player campaign, relying instead on a mode against bots. Players express a desire for more engaging NPC interactions and reactions, reminiscent of classic titles like Perfect Dark, and hope for future expansions that will enhance the narrative experience. Overall, while the setting and story potential are appreciated, the absence of a robust single-player mode is a significant drawback.
“I am hoping the game someday has a true single-player mode, which I hope will include a campaign that expands on the story.”
“I am hoping the game someday has a true single-player mode (which, it's lying about to some degree it would seem at least, it has single-player vs. bots; however, it has no campaign). I hope they imitate Perfect Dark's NPC hit-reactions (i.e., in Perfect Dark, if you've never played it, every time you shot a character in story mode, they would have some reaction of some kind. Whether this was a very small contortion with little to no gameplay penalty as it was for the player, it could vary to a full stagger, or even retorting to grabbing their shot wrist or ankle). As it seems now, there seems to be literally no hit-reaction whatsoever; in Perfect Dark's combat simulator, there was at least a very small retort from even the player character you shot.”

“It works well as a setting and even a story, which I hope will be expanded on in the announced single-player content.”

Reviewers have expressed a desire for improved hit-reactions similar to those in classic games like Perfect Dark, as the current mechanics feel unresponsive. However, the game is actively receiving content updates, including new maps and gameplay modes, which may enhance the overall experience.
