gameplay
5 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe gameplay is reminiscent of Army Men II, featuring improved controls that allow for group selection and camera locking, enhancing combat dynamics. Players can utilize a variety of tactical options, including custom squad formations and diverse weaponry, while enjoying greater movement freedom. However, the overall experience reflects its age, lacking modern graphical fidelity.
“The gameplay is similar to Army Men II, but the controls are much better, allowing you to select an entire group and run with the right mouse button, which locks the camera on your character, making combat much more engaging. You can still play in the point-and-click style if that's your preference.”
“This game functions well on paper and offers more tactical options than many modern games. You can form and direct custom squads with quick and easy control group mechanics, utilize a wider array of weapons including mortars, flamethrowers, and mines, and enjoy greater freedom of movement with the ability to roll while kneeling and prone, as well as fire most light weapons on the move.”
“Gameplay-wise, it's obviously older than most of you reading this, so yes, it's not 'ultra pretty real-life graphics,' but it offers a unique experience.”
“This game functions well on paper and gives you more tactical options than running with rifles does today: form and direct custom squads with quick and easy control group mechanics, use a wider variety of weapons with mortars, flamethrowers, mines, gun emplacements, power-ups both instant and stashable, as well as three semi-permanent upgrades to your rifle, and enjoy greater freedom of movement with the ability to roll while kneeling and prone, and fire most light weapons on the move.”

“Gameplay is like Army Men 2, with some adjustments that are both better and worse.”
