“The story is compelling and well written, the characters are likable and fun, and the two best parts of the game in my opinion are the combat system and the world you explore within the game.”
“Epic story and well written characters to inhabit the world, and an amazing soundtrack.”
“I found myself completing a number of side quests I didn't realize I had begun because I was not reading much of the text attendant to the side quest explanations.”
“The only issue I have with this game is there are no quest markers for monster hunts, all side quests, or people.”
“It's a chore to figure out how to turn in the quest when you can't find that person, and if they appear at day or night.”

The graphics of the game have received mixed reviews, with some players noting that while they may not match the HD quality of modern consoles or the Wii version, they are still decent for a handheld. The 3D functionality enhances the visuals, making them more appealing despite some dated elements, particularly in close-up renderings. Overall, while the graphics may not be the standout feature, they do not detract from the game's engaging story and gameplay.
“The 3D functions somehow make the visuals look twice as good.”
“Graphics look pretty good, and the storyline is pretty interesting so far.”
“Compared to the Wii version, things have been downgraded, such as the graphics, but I didn't care because the game is still beautiful and the sound quality is still amazing, especially in Gaur Plains.”
“While the game features 3D visuals like any other 3DS game, they really do not add much or make the game look significantly better.”
“The prologue has terrible graphics, bad framerate, bad cutscenes, bad gameplay, and all of the male voices sound identical.”
“The only downsides would be the fact that all the graphics aren't as crisp as the Wii version.”

Xenoblade Chronicles 3D Review
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is a high-quality port of one of the Wii's most demanding yet brilliant experiences. A sizeable and stunningly diverse world, full of wildlife and fantastical cultures, is admirably recreated for the small screens of the New Nintendo 3DS. Its natural home may be on the TV, but this release gives more gamers an opportunity to set off on a lengthy and dramatic adventure. A brilliant portable version of a true classic, fans of RPGs willing to commit themselves to the task of saving Bionis shouldn't hesitate to pick this up - it is, quite simply, the biggest world we've experienced on such small screens.
