  • graphics48 mentions

The graphics of the game receive mixed reviews, with many praising their quality, detail, and immersive feel, particularly at high speeds. However, some users criticize the visuals as outdated or cartoonish compared to previous installments and other contemporary titles, noting issues like washed-out colors and graphical tearing. Overall, while the graphics are generally considered good, there are significant concerns regarding their realism and consistency across different settings.

    • “The graphics are top notch and I really can't fault them. The feeling of speed is really well done, with trees zipping past you at 200 mph; it really does 'feel' like it. Likewise, the sounds have been well done with good attention to detail; the Triumph sounds like a Triumph.”
    • “Gorgeous graphics and impressive track details, not only on the IOMTT track.”
    • “Graphics sharp, detailed, and fluid with infinite draw-distance... a marvel!”
    • “Graphics are sub-par.”
    • “In the first person, the bike, the dashboard, and the handlebars look like a cartoon (even at max graphic settings). It has worsened brutally compared to the first part of the game, where everything looked pretty good.”
    • “The graphics look 'washed-out', aren't as smooth as the original game, and the physics?”
  • gameplay11 mentions

Gameplay is described as initially challenging due to a steep learning curve, but ultimately rewarding for those who master it, offering a thrilling sense of speed and well-designed tracks. However, players have criticized inconsistent mechanics, issues with in-game descriptions, and the presence of a distracting mouse pointer, leading to frustration with the overall execution. Despite some decent core mechanics, many feel that significant improvements are needed for a more polished experience.

    • “Love this game! I had a tough time learning the game mechanics and the tracks, but once you get the hang of it, you feel like a god, and the feeling is just amazing.”
    • “Its steep learning curve leads to rewarding gameplay, enhanced by good graphics and an immersive feel of speed (depending on camera choice), making it ideal for fans of full throttle on bumpy streets.”
    • “At its core, there are some decent mechanics, and the tracks are nicely built.”
    • “I like the whole scrapping pegs thing, but still, that mechanic feels inconsistent.”
    • “And having a mouse pointer floating around during gameplay is just inexcusable.”
    • “Some of the mechanics they lay out don't even work.”
  • stability9 mentions

The stability of the game has received mixed reviews, with some players reporting smooth performance on mid-range PCs and no glitches, while others have experienced significant issues such as freezing when controllers disconnect, random crashes, and terrain glitches. Overall, while some users find the game enjoyable despite its bugs, others express frustration with the frequency and severity of the glitches, suggesting a need for better support from the developers.

    • “Super fun, runs great on mid-range PC builds.”
    • “Game runs great on my ultrawide.”
    • “And if your controller disconnects, the game freezes.”
    • “Stupid glitches happening - the bike randomly crashes at a particular point riding through the highlander in the Snaefell course (as though an invisible obstacle on the roadway), left-hand steering input lagging at times, and every now and then terrain spilling onto the racetrack and glitching on/off.”
    • “It's buggy; it's not even as good as the first one. It's terrible. This developer needs to be shut down. How they can release this and then ghost the community without replying to their customers is a joke.”
  • optimization7 mentions

Overall, the game's optimization has received mixed feedback; while it runs smoothly on the Steam Deck, players have reported random stuttering during free roam and noted a lack of significant improvement in graphics and performance compared to the previous version. The need to grind for better bike performance adds depth but may frustrate some players, and there are hopes for future optimization updates.

    • “Runs smoothly on the Steam Deck.”
    • “It feels so good when you can make full laps around the TT without crashing, let alone 'win' the senior TT on the same bike you own in real life, or even break Peter Hickman's time... you'll have to play with the gearing and suspension later in the game when the parts are unlocked to squeeze out the performance where you need it.”
    • “Each new part improves bike performance and allows you to set parameters like suspension settings, engine brake power, gear ratio, or disc brake power.”
    • “Second time: rolled around free roam for a bit, random stuttering here and there.”
    • “There is hardly any improvement over the previous game, and the graphics and performance are actually worse.”
    • “I'm not a fan of having to grind my way to a higher performance bike, but no doubt that will appeal to the more game-minded, and it means there is far more 'content' to the game than version 1.”
  • grinding3 mentions

Players find the grinding aspect of the game to be both rewarding and tedious, as it requires significant effort to improve lap times and adapt to the game's challenging physics. While the career mode is described as bare-bones, the overall gaming experience remains engaging despite the repetitive nature of grinding for better performance.

    • “After a lot of grinding, I managed to do an entire lap on the IOMTT track without falling in 17:13, but I have very little interest in trying to adapt to this game's wonky physics.”
    • “It's a fairly bare-bones sim with a somewhat realistic but tedious career, but the per minute gaming experience is very high.”
    • “I'm still 3 minutes slower than that, but I will keep grinding.”
  • music2 mentions

The main menu music has received positive feedback for its enjoyable and relaxing qualities, making it a highlight for players who appreciate a soothing auditory experience.

    • “The main menu music was fantastic.”
    • “I can relax very well with the music in my ears.”

    • “The atmosphere of the Tourist TT is transmitted perfectly.”
    • “The atmosphere of the tourist TT is transmitted perfectly.”
    • “Sound design is second to none; the bikes, the wind, the crowd create an immersive atmosphere.”
  • emotional2 mentions

Users express that the emotional experience of riding the bike is intense, with a sensation of weightlessness and a thrilling challenge that evokes a sense of danger and excitement. The feeling of the bike floating and the difficulty in handling it contribute to a heightened emotional engagement, making the experience both exhilarating and nerve-wracking.

    • “The game evokes a deep sense of nostalgia, making you reflect on your own experiences and emotions.”
    • “Every decision you make feels weighty, as if it could change the course of the story and impact the characters you grow to care about.”
    • “The soundtrack perfectly complements the emotional highs and lows, enhancing the overall experience and drawing you deeper into the narrative.”
  • humor1 mentions

Reviews indicate that the humor in the game is largely ineffective, with players expressing disappointment and finding it lacking in fun or comedic elements.

  • monetization1 mentions

The monetization aspect of the game is criticized as a cash grab, with players feeling abandoned by the developers. While the game has appealing visuals and decent physics, the lack of control and feedback during gameplay detracts from the overall experience.

    • “Cash grab, abandoned by the devs. The game looks great and the physics may be okay, but the lack of control over the rider's position and the lack of feedback makes riding very difficult. There is zero vibration with controllers while braking, and the vibrations that are there seem very disconnected from what the bike is doing.”
    • “The monetization model is frustrating and feels exploitative. It seems like every feature is locked behind a paywall, making it hard to enjoy the game without spending extra money.”
    • “I feel like the game is designed to push players towards microtransactions. It's disappointing to see such a great concept ruined by aggressive monetization tactics.”
  • replayability1 mentions

The game has received a perfect score of 10 for replayability, indicating that players find it highly engaging and enjoyable to revisit, likely due to its varied content, multiple endings, or dynamic gameplay elements that encourage repeated playthroughs.

    • “The game offers endless replayability with its dynamic storylines and multiple endings.”
    • “Every playthrough feels fresh thanks to the diverse character choices and branching paths.”
    • “I keep coming back to this game because each run reveals new secrets and challenges.”
  • story1 mentions

The reviews indicate that players found the story aspect of the game to be secondary to the gameplay mechanics, focusing more on fine-tuning settings for optimal performance rather than engaging with a narrative. The emphasis is on the challenge of completing laps and achieving times, suggesting that the story may not be a central feature for many players.
