While some felt the variety of tracks was limited, the overall consensus is that the music is a standout feature, elevating the gameplay and making it memorable.

    • “The music is fantastic and original, and the two themes (other than the game over screen music) you'll be hearing most often - the stage and boss theme - are always great to listen to, and I've yet to get bored listening to them both.”
    • “Amazing art, amazing music and great gameplay.”
    • “Very fun game with fantastic music and graphics.”
    • “I spent more time in the menu making music with the sounds than actually playing the god damn game.”

  • gameplay
    22 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The gameplay is generally praised for its fluid mechanics, creative bullet patterns, and impressive visuals and music, making it a solid experience despite being limited to a single stage. While some players found the bullet hell mechanics challenging and the level design frustrating, others appreciated the auto-dodge feature that allows for a more relaxed playstyle. Overall, it serves as a good introduction to Touhou-style gameplay, appealing to those seeking a challenge.

    • “The bullet patterns in this game are very creative, and the movement mechanics are very solid.”
    • “Overall, it is a very solid game, with all the usual gameplay mechanics you'd expect.”
    • “This game has amazing art, amazing music, and great gameplay.”
    • “Ok, so first I wasn't sure of giving it a positive review. Don't get me wrong, the game looks stunning; all the visuals, art, effects, and even music are very good. However, I had a couple of problems with this game. First, even though Steam says it has gamepad support, I couldn't make it work, and the default WASD Steam overlay didn't work properly either. It wasn't until a community comment that I knew that Z is for shoot and X is for bomb. So remapping the Steam input and adding Enter and Escape for submit and back buttons made it possible for me to play. But then the gameplay... I'm very used to games like Ikaruga, Esp Galuda, Dodonpachi, etc., but the bullet hell in this game is overwhelming. I couldn't find a proper path to avoid the bullets, and I was going to give a negative review because of that - 'worst level design ever.' Then I watched the community videos... well, the game is not bad; it's just me. I need to get good. I guess I'm never going to get 100% achievements.”
    • “The gameplay here is just as great; however, sadly rather short, consisting of only one stage.”
    • “1 stage only and it feels like you are playing an extra stage. Most of the patterns are kind of weird compared to what I have seen, but it's not too hard either, just weird. Sometimes you will see a few patterns that are very RNG. I don't like the music in this game, that's for sure, and you are stuck with Reimu only. The game pretty much feels like you are playing Touhou 15 because there are no other mechanics like in other Touhou series; just shoot and dodge until you are done. We are fighting a cat for some reason; I'm not sure what the story is either because it's in Chinese, I guess.”
  • story
    11 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

The story in this game is generally perceived as minimal and difficult to follow, especially for those who cannot read Chinese, leading players to focus more on gameplay than narrative. While some find humor in the game's themes of death and fate, the overall plot is described as simple and lacking depth, with many players expressing a desire for a more engaging storyline. Despite these critiques, the gameplay mechanics are praised for their detail and quality.

    • “Death is common, as usual, and it's funny when the autododge 'agrees' and just has Reimu accept her fate, but generally that autododge works as advertised if you're lazy and just want to see the story.”
    • “But the storyline might be good if I can understand it.”
    • “This game is a Touhou game and it has 1 level but it's very hard and nothing changes like many Touhou games; a simple Touhou game. I would like a new story, but eh, I don't know...”
    • “It has no story.”
    • “With a seemingly simple plot (because I cannot read Chinese :p) and a great soundtrack, you won't really be focused on the story, but mostly on the gameplay, which is very well made and detailed.”
    • “This game is a Touhou game and it has 1 level but it's very hard and nothing changes like many Touhou games. A simple Touhou game; I would like a new story, but I don't know...”

    • “It is optimized to the point that any PC could run it, while still maintaining a high quality look and feel.”
    • “I wasn't expecting the 3D models from the Unity engine to work with 2D sprites; I imagined they would collide way too easily, but they proved me wrong. The game plays well, optimized and with no collision problems.”

    3 mentions Positive Neutral Negative

Players acknowledge a high level of replayability due to the game's challenging nature, though some feel discouraged from attempting to replay due to their own skill limitations.

    • “The game offers endless possibilities, making each playthrough feel fresh and exciting.”
    • “With multiple paths and outcomes, I find myself coming back for more every time.”
    • “I'd say there's lots of replay value (which technically there is due to the challenge), but I struggle with it too much already to want to try again.”
  • humor

The humor in the game is characterized by a dark, irreverent tone, particularly evident in the comedic acceptance of death, as seen with the autododge feature that humorously aligns with the character Reimu's fate. Overall, the humor complements the narrative, appealing to players who enjoy a blend of laziness and storytelling.

    • “Death is common, as usual, and it's funny when the autododge 'agrees' and just has Reimu accept her fate. Generally, that autododge works as advertised if you're lazy and just want to see the story.”
