The Eternal Cylinder
The Eternal Cylinder is a gorgeous adventure game that features one of the most compelling stories I've seen in years. Its strict linearity may be frustrating for some, but that slight downside is vastly outweighed by this game's many strengths.

“I love this game, I was so amazed by the story of survival and the journey for the survival of these creatures.”
“The story is beautifully presented, the creatures are adorably weird, and the monsters are imaginatively grotesque.”
“The eternal cylinder is a game oozing with charm at every moment; its story is interesting, wacky, scary, and surprisingly mature in its themes and presentation.”
“The only problem I have with this game is not being able to obtain certain mutations and foods after certain points in the story.”
“But on the other hand, I see cylinder minions looking like monsters from a body horror movie; I see the apocalyptic story, and in general, the story is not fun but sad.”
“This game is 3-4 hours of content and story stretched over 12 hours of extremely tedious gameplay with janky (but fun at times) controls and major 'fatal error!' crashes.”
The Eternal Cylinder
A hallmark of excellence. There may be flaws, but they are negligible and won't cause massive damage.
90%The Eternal Cylinder Review (PC)
The Eternal Cylinder has a cool story, interesting exploration mechanics, a good unique idea in the mutations, and solid presentation. While it starts off a little slow, once it gets going it kept me engaged and pushing forward. The trebhums might be too cute for their own good but it’s nice to see how they solve puzzles via mutations while navigating their cylinder threatened planet. ACE Team has specialized in weird worlds, but this is the first time the studio has managed to craft one that is also beautiful and immersive. Sometimes I wanted the gameplay spaces to be a little bigger, or even entirely open world. But I understand that The Eternal Cylinder needs structure and hope that the easy-to-understand mechanics and cute protagonists will allow a wide range of players to engage with the game. 90%The Eternal Cylinder Review - Q*bert meets Oddworld
A unique and highly original survival adventure inhabited by a host of outlandish creatures in which you constantly struggle to guide your hapless Trebhums to safety and away from The Cylinder. While the design and concept can't be faulted, the lack of direction and excessive busywork bog down the gameplay and detract from the experience to the point of patience testing. If you can handle a fiddly challenge which rewards a great deal of patience with some outstanding originality, it's recommended.
