Overall, the inclusion of extensive music options alongside a wealth of related memorabilia enhances the nostalgic value of the collection.
“Plus, it’s full of cool animations, sound bites, wonderfully creative stages, awesome soundtrack… it’s really good even if the bosses get quite unreasonable.”
“Even if you just want to take a trip down memory lane to listen to all the soundtracks, see artwork from every game, or go through the best stills from the comics from this legendary franchise, that’s all in here.”
“Great presentation, soundtrack & gameplay with many filters to give that classic vibe.”
“They replaced the theme song with a stupid one.”
“Initial impression: I don't really like it, they changed the original music to the games and I gotta say I hate the upgrade.”

The graphics in this collection are a nostalgic nod to the arcade classics, showcasing remastered visuals that maintain the charm of the original games while offering adjustable filters and aspect ratios. Players appreciate the crisp in-game graphics and the extensive array of high-quality scans of original artwork, manuals, and memorabilia, although some find the menu design lacking. Overall, the blend of retro aesthetics and modern enhancements provides a satisfying experience for fans of the franchise.
“Further to this, some of the console classics included here were among the first games to really nail the transition from the arcade to your home, a real holy grail at the time, serving up the exact same graphical prowess and gameplay speed in the comfort of your own sitting room.”
“This can't get any more classic; there's totally 'mondo awesome' original era remastered graphics, colors and sounds, and the ability to change the aspect ratio, screen filters, plus there's loads of classic memorabilia to look at too thanks for hosting on Steam!”
“I really love the game selection menus with the comic panels, and the extras are really fun features like full screen or default and the border artwork and filters.”
“It seems okay, but I only tried it for a few minutes, because why would I play a watered down and much harder version of the arcade with massively inferior visuals?”
“On top of that, it has a very ugly menu in terms of visuals and layout.”
“Additionally, some of the 'extra features' artwork feels a bit tacked on.”

Now THIS is how you do a classic collection.
90%Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection Review
TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection is indisputably the best thing Konami has released in a long while, meeting all expectations and then some. Bar absent difficulty settings for the arcade games, it’s an anthology that finally gets it totally right. Digital Eclipse and Konami have done the fans justice, offering a comprehensive library that doesn’t hide content behind a paywall, while going above and beyond in terms of features and bonuses. With online functionality and rollback netcode being the icing on the cake, this is now the gold standard for retro collections. Capcom, pay close attention.

TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection is a treasure trove of Turtle games, but our online experience was barely functional when matchmaking. Couch co-op fares a lot better, but some may notice an increased input delay over the originals. All said this is still a great collection for fans.
