The monetization strategy of the game has received significant criticism for being overly aggressive and predatory, with many players feeling that progression is heavily gated behind expensive in-app purchases and excessive ad-watching. While some users appreciate the absence of forced ads, they express frustration over the high costs of upgrades and the reliance on ads for rewards, leading to a perception of the game as a cash grab. Overall, the fun gameplay is often overshadowed by the monetization practices, which many find to be exploitative and detrimental to the overall experience.

    • “However, the game is refreshing because there are no ads to watch unless you want to.”
    • “No ads unless you choose for rewards, and it's just such a fun game to lose yourself in when you have free time.”
    • “Outstanding game, no ads so far, and it is very easy to play and win.”
    • “This is a maze of UIs, shops, ads, 'value bundles', etc. You've seen it all before: in-game currency, resources, items, upgrades, gambling, and the daily chore of pressing 50 buttons to collect each individual measly reward.”
    • “From the hard paywall to the never-ending popups to buy this pack or that pack, this is clearly a cash grab game focused on draining your account, one microtransaction at a time.”
    • “The events force you to pay in order to complete them; microtransactions should be there to help you progress quicker, not be a requirement to complete.”

The gameplay is generally praised for its fun mechanics and engaging core loop, with many players enjoying the unique snake mechanic and the challenge it presents. However, there are significant criticisms regarding the game's monetization strategies, which create a pay-to-win environment and lead to repetitive grinding, especially as players progress. While the initial experience is enjoyable, many users express frustration with the difficulty spikes and lack of meaningful rewards, which detracts from the overall gameplay experience.

    • “The gameplay is fantastic.”
    • “The gameplay is great, it's a nice mixup of archero type games but with a snake that keeps growing during the game.”
    • “Extremely fun and addicting game with great mechanics, difficulty and variety of play types.”
    • “The addition of drawing for equipment means that progress is dependent on luck and money rather than letting the gameplay shine.”
    • “Gameplay quickly becomes repetitive and grindy.”
    • “Going stage-to-stage is pretty annoying and stops the flow of the gameplay, making me want to close the game each time I have to wait just to go to the next stage.”
  • story61 mentions

The game's story aspect is largely criticized for its lack of depth and engaging narrative, with many players feeling that the quests are tedious and often impossible to complete without spending money. Users express frustration over the poorly designed newbie quests and the absence of clear instructions, which detracts from the overall experience and makes progression feel unachievable for free-to-play players. Overall, the game is seen as heavily reliant on pay-to-win mechanics, leaving little room for meaningful story development or player growth.

    • “I have a love-hate relationship with the extremely challenging bosses and I love the variety of creative choices (all the armors, all the bodies, the quests like ghosts and gold rush). I love that the ads are not overwhelming at all, the amazing graphics, and I love the cuteness of the snakes!”
    • “Although I only started playing a week ago, I hop on each day to do the daily quests, and it helps me pass the time quite effectively while having fun.”
    • “This game reminds me of the game Colossatron... it would be much more awesome with infinite levels and also degradable pieces, and some perks like enemies talking or a storyline would be much more engaging.”
    • “However, the second big downside counters that - there is no story and progress worth mentioning in the game.”
    • “Even the newbie quests (tutorial quests) are impossible to finish without paying.”
    • “Not only that, they have a scummy practice of putting your newbie missions on a timer to make you feel pressured to purchase currencies in order to clear said missions.”
  • graphics44 mentions

Overall, the graphics of the game are widely praised for their quality and aesthetic appeal, with many users highlighting the smoothness and creativity of the visuals. • “The graphics and sound effects are top-notch, and really add to the overall experience.”
    • “The graphics of this game are amazing and the thinking behind the game is genius.”
    • “Graphics look like a 2000's paper game.”
    • “Visuals are the equivalent of digital sick.”
    • “For now, as the game goes and more monsters appear, the game lags and is not smooth anymore; hope the developer will introduce a smooth graphic!”
  • grinding42 mentions

The reviews highlight a pervasive issue with grinding in the game, where players feel that significant progress is only achievable through extensive farming or spending real money. Many users express frustration over the steep difficulty curve and inadequate rewards for their efforts, leading to a tedious and repetitive gameplay experience. While some find the game enjoyable initially, the grind becomes overwhelming, often resulting in players quitting due to the lack of meaningful advancement without financial investment.

    • “Everything important requires real money or a year's worth of farming.”
    • “I'm a bit disappointed; I have now spent a week grinding to level up and upgrade my snakes and still can't make it past level 29. I love playing this game, but now it is just ridiculous.”
    • “Without spending after 2-3 weeks, you will experience only grinding and boredom.”
  • music10 mentions

The music in the game receives mixed reviews, with some players praising it as enjoyable and well-composed, while others find it annoying and poorly balanced with sound effects. Many users note the lack of sound optimization options, which limits their ability to adjust the audio to their liking. Overall, while the music has its fans, it also has significant detractors who feel it detracts from the gameplay experience.

    • “This game is fairly new, but I can say they did an incredible job with the concept. I really like the music too.”
    • “Btw, the music in this game is honestly really good!”
    • “Everything from visuals, effects, music, and gameplay, even controls, are very smooth.”
    • “The music is not good, gameplay sound isn't balanced and some things such as death sounds are obnoxiously loud.”
    • “The only downfall is music; it's so annoying.”
    • “I enjoy playing this game, but I noticed that it doesn't have music/sound optimization; you can only turn it on or off.”
  • stability7 mentions

The stability of the game has received mixed reviews, with users reporting significant glitches, particularly with features like the tower store and ad rewards, which often fail to load. While some players have experienced only minor issues, others have encountered major bugs that disrupt gameplay, such as characters disappearing or attacks stopping unexpectedly. Overall, the game's stability is seen as a concern that needs addressing for a better user experience.

    • “I would put it up higher in the stars, but the endless tower store only wants to work on its own time. I was able to get in before the rewards, and now I can't. I've uninstalled twice and still nothing. The free ad rewards don't want to load, so there are some serious glitches in the game. If a lot of the features aren't working, once they get fixed and work all the time, I will change my review, but for now, it's okay.”
    • “Also, terrible glitches in new content.”
    • “Good luck if you have in-game issues or glitches.”
  • humor5 mentions

The humor in the game is generally well-received, with players finding it funny and enjoyable, especially in the early stages. Overall, while the humor remains a highlight, the game's monetization strategies may overshadow the enjoyment for some players.

    • “Funny game.”
    • “Funny to play, not too easy, nor too hard.”

    • “It is poorly optimized and becomes unplayable so fast it's ridiculous.”
    • “This game has severe performance issues that make it almost impossible to play.”
    • “I can't go five minutes without it freezing, stuttering, or otherwise glitching.”
  • emotional4 mentions

Players find the game emotionally engaging, appreciating its enjoyable and wholesome experience without the pressure of aggressive monetization. However, some express frustration with random deaths that can disrupt the flow, suggesting a balance between challenge and player satisfaction could enhance the emotional experience.

  • replayability3 mentions

Users express concerns about the game's replayability, noting that the high difficulty and reliance on purchases limit enjoyment. They suggest that adding alternative skill choices in normal mode could enhance replay value, while the absence of bots is seen as a potential improvement.
