In Soul Blazer, a top-down action RPG, players are tasked by the Master to restore life to the Friel empire, where King Magridd's greed led to a deal with the evil Deathtoll, resulting in the exchange of one living being's soul for a piece of gold. With Magridd disappeared and the land overrun by Deathtoll's monsters, players must save Friel's subjects and defeat Deathtoll to bring peace to the empire.
