gameplay
12 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe gameplay has received mixed reviews, with many players criticizing the mechanics and persistent bugs that hinder the experience, often deeming it unplayable compared to previous versions. While some appreciate the challenge and competitive AI, others find the mechanics frustratingly unrealistic, particularly in scenarios involving race-day conditions and team dynamics. Overall, the gameplay offers potential fun in team-building but is marred by long-standing issues that detract from its realism and enjoyment.
“Overall, the gameplay is fun; building your team from the continental level to the World Tour is enjoyable.”
“Decent design; gameplay is better than ever.”
“However, the gameplay feels much more challenging, and the AI is much more competitive, especially in sprints.”
“Unplayable, the 2022 version was better in most cases - these mechanics and collision detection issues are horrible.”
“The only way to win is to understand the dodgy mechanics and use them to your advantage.”
“Well, that's it, very little new under the sun. Most long-standing problems are still the same. For example, in 'Be a Pro' mode, your rider will be instructed to pull the peloton for x km, and as soon as the stage starts, your teammates will attack, leading to you getting rewarded for intentionally chasing down your own teammates. Other problems even seem to have gotten worse, like getting stuck behind opposing riders that decide to pull the brakes and drag you from the front to the rear of the peloton in a few seconds with zero player agency, or the AI deciding to ride at 100% pace at completely pointless times, leading to a worse and less realistic gameplay experience.”
