NHL 19
- September 13, 2018
With every passing year, I’m consistently impressed how EA are able to improve on an already winning formula, making each new release of NHL a must own title, rather than a glorified roster update.
"NHL 19" takes hockey back to its outdoor roots, allowing players to compete on outdoor rinks and progress from pond to pro in new and returning modes. Powered by Real Player Motion Tech, the game delivers explosive skating and bigger hits. The World of CHEL hub offers a unified reward system for character customization, with over 900 apparel options and new player classes to personalize your gameplay experience.

NHL 19 Review
Don’t let NHL 19's slick menus and new skating animations fool you: the same NHL game you’ve been playing for five years is still here. If you already know the series well, this is unquestionably the best iteration of the title, but it comes with the added caveat that it’s hindered by many of the same problems from years past. The reduced significance of poke check, and smaller changes like new skating animations, definitely help elevate the general presentation of the title – but it could and should be so much better than it is.
50%NHL 19 review - A Chel of an upgrade
A focus on core mechanics and introduction of the World of Chel could signal the beginning of a new golden age for the NHL series.
