The game's story is minimal, primarily revolving around a series of repetitive fetch quests and basic interactions with mostly static NPCs, which can lead to a lack of engagement over time. While players appreciate the variety of activities available, such as driving a train and engaging in side missions, the absence of a cohesive narrative and the presence of bugs detract from the overall experience. Many users express a desire for more substantial updates and improvements to the quest system to enhance the storytelling aspect.
“I do enjoy the game, but it would be nice to see more updates because I'd love to see more in the game and have more side stuff to do as well. For a train sim, it's great because you can work as a train driver and get paid, then spend that money on an apartment until you can own a house. There are pastimes like gambling at a casino, making and shipping drugs, and a strip club. If you talk to some of the NPCs, you can get a mission from them if you become friends with them. It is probably the best life sim we have right now, and I would love to see more get added to the game.”
“I've beaten all the quests (so far), and I think this is the best first-person life sim on Steam. Plus, initially, the missions are likewise good.”
“The side missions add extra depth, though it's too easy to unlock NPC affinity if you keep talking to them. If you mess up the first time, just remember the correct sequence of answers, and you can go back in.”
“There's no real storyline, and learning what to do is a stretch.”
“Finally, when I hit around 15 hours, the quests become repetitive and boring.”
“Most of them were fetch quests, and it got old.”

The gameplay is characterized by a promising concept that suffers from a lack of polish and depth, with many mechanics feeling poorly implemented and repetitive. While there are enjoyable elements like the needs mechanic and open-world exploration, the overall experience is marred by sluggish controls, inconsistent detail, and a quest system that fails to engage players long-term. With significant improvements in core mechanics and content, the game could realize its potential, but as it stands, it feels more like an early access title in need of further development.
“There is plenty to do: bars and clubs to frequent, different jobs, open world exploration, a needs mechanic, apartments to buy, people to date.”
“In fact, the needs mechanic is perfect as it stands.”
“After an hour of gameplay, it's definitely fun and seems to be heaps to explore and do.”
“A cool concept, but this feels like an early access/alpha stage in development and would need some serious work done on its core mechanics and making the world feel more alive for it to be worth playing long term.”
“The 'metro sim' is a glorified minigame; very basic and hollow in terms of mechanics and challenges, and it quickly becomes a chore.”
“All the mechanics you encounter in some 30 minutes, afterwards you're bored senseless and I couldn't be bothered to play any more.”

Overall, the graphics are seen as satisfactory but not groundbreaking, with room for improvement.

“Graphics are very nice, controls are easy to use and change to your liking, I love the realism of taking care of yourself such as hydration, energy, bladder, hygiene, and nutrition.”

“I was pretty excited for this game, but I had big graphics problems from the beginning.”
“I read the big reports and several people were having similar graphical errors.”
