In Mega Man X2, X, the leader of the Maverick Hunters, is tasked with eliminating the remaining Mavericks six months after Sigma's defeat. However, when the X-Hunters appear with the remains of his fallen comrade, Zero, X must rescue him and prevent the X-Hunters from resurrecting Zero and reviving Sigma. The game is a fast-paced action-packed platformer with challenging boss battles and varied level design.
