About
"Echo Tokyo: Intro" is a prelude to the world of Echo Tokyo, a cyberpunk city in the sky after a nuclear fog made street level uninhabitable. This steam game includes two graphic novels: Shizume's Origin Story, an interactive graphic novel with full voice acting, and Keiji's Origin Story, a kinetic graphic novel also with full voice acting. Through these stories, players will be introduced to the main characters and the unique living conditions of Echo Tokyo.

- The game features decent artwork and a unique comic/VN style presentation that some players found refreshing.
- It includes fully voiced narration, which adds a level of engagement to the storytelling.
- The game offers easy achievements, making it appealing for achievement hunters.
- The game is extremely short, with most players completing it in under an hour, leading to a feeling of lack of content.
- The voice acting quality is inconsistent, with some performances described as cringeworthy and lacking emotion.
- The storylines are considered dull and predictable, with minimal meaningful choices that do not significantly impact the outcomes.

286 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe story in this visual novel is generally perceived as weak and underdeveloped, with many reviewers noting its brevity and lack of meaningful choices. While Shizume's origin story offers some interactive elements and multiple endings, the paths often feel repetitive, and Keiji's story is a linear experience with no choices at all. Despite some intriguing themes and potential for future expansions, the overall narrative fails to leave a lasting impression, leading to a sense of dissatisfaction among players.
“Shizume's origin story is the first of the two available adventures in the game, and lets players enroll in the plot of Shizume’s events that changed her as an individual and as a character.”
“From Shizume's origin story, you can already get the sense that there's a lot of potential for this world/story and it does make you want to find out what happens next.”
“The first graphic novel story introduces Shizume Misaki, in this fully voiced interactive graphic novel, telling her tale as she begins working as a fixer within Echo Tokyo.”
“It's a pretty weak story as well as being fairly short.”
“The main story has 5 or so different endings, but all the paths and choices are essentially the same.”
“It's just the stub of a story, more like a rough sketch than a finished product.”
