About
DrumBeatsVR is a VR drumming music game that allows you to play iconic drum kits in a variety of scenic locations. The game comes with a setlist of twelve songs and the ability to import custom songs. You can play on rock-kits, Metallica and Rolling Stones sound and setup, and in settings like a studio, hell, ocean floor, Antarctica, and the moon. Left-handed drum kit option is also available.

- Impressive level of realism with good sounding drums and cymbals.
- The game has come a long way with improved hit detection and the ability to install custom songs, enhancing the overall experience.
- The arcade mode is fun and addictive, reminiscent of classic rhythm games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band.
- Hit detection and registration issues make the game frustrating, especially for those familiar with real drumming.
- Limited song selection and lack of customization options hinder the overall experience.
- Recent updates have introduced bugs and removed features like the in-game stage/kit switcher and pause menu, making gameplay less enjoyable.

124 mentions Positive Neutral NegativeThe music aspect of the game has received mixed reviews, with players praising the quality of a few built-in songs while criticizing the limited selection, currently only around five tracks. Many users express frustration with hit detection issues and delays that disrupt gameplay, making it difficult to play in sync with the music. The ability to add custom songs is a highlight, but the lack of a robust community and tools for creating and sharing content limits the overall experience.
“If you try any of the 170 or so custom songs (at the time of writing), it's just fantastic and it does feel like sitting at an actual drumkit.”
“The base songs are varied and sound great, the track charting is well done and the ability to create your own custom songs is a great idea; I just wish there was more of a community to make more songs.”
“Overall this game is very fun and addicting and I can't recommend it enough to any kind of musical people!”
“The songs that come with the game aren't the best 'selection' and I wouldn't call them a selection really.”
“It looked cool but since you don't really hit the drum and since the virtual drum is transparent and badly designed, it just feels bad to hit the notes. What's worse is you don't actually affect the song with your drum hits; your hits and the song are two different things, and all that happens when you miss a note is the song lowers in volume until you get back on track.”
“I know for a fact I'm hitting the right drums at the right time, but it does not register the hit, so I can't even get past 30 seconds of a song. That kind of kills the mood. Don't get me wrong, this game has a lot of potential; hopefully, it gets better with time.”
