Day of the Tentacle is a 1993 graphic adventure game, where players control characters Bernard, Hoagie, and Laverne, who must stop the evil Purple Tentacle from taking over the world using time travel to solve puzzles in different historical periods. The game was developed using the SCUMM engine and is the sequel to Maniac Mansion, with co-leads Dave Grossman and Tim Schafer taking inspiration from Chuck Jones cartoons and US history. It was the first title from the developer to feature voice acting.
